  • Not just anyone can prune your trees on your residential and commercial property. Most municipalities require an ISA Certified Arborist or ISA Certified Tree Climber to go through a licensing process to insure they are a reputable licensed and insured business. We have a number of Certified Arborists on staff so you can be sure that we are providing the best service that won’t damage your tree or property.

  • The cost of tree pruning can range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Factors that affect the price include the size of the tree, whether it is in the front or backyard, ease of equipment access, and any structures or obstacles under or near the tree. A general guideline is a smaller tree like a crabapple or pear is $1,000 or less to prune, a medium sized tree like a norway maple is $1,000-2,000, and a large tree like an elm or cottonwood may be over $2,000. But there are many variables, and it is best to consult with one of our arborists to fit your needs.

  • The typical tree should be pruned every 4-7 years to maintain it in good condition. Tree species, condition, and age class all factor into the pruning rotation, but our arborists can help schedule your pruning rotation.

  • Studies have shown most trees can be pruned anytime of year without detriment. However there are some species we do not prune at various times of year due to insect and disease vectors. Crabapples and trees in the rose family for example should only be pruned during the dormant season.

  • The cost of removing a tree can range from a few hundred dollars to over ten thousand dollars. The size of the tree plays a big factor in removal costs, with large trees costing much more. Other factors can include the condition of the tree. A tree that has been dead for years poses higher risk to our arborists and may necessitate more equipment on site. What is near and under the tree also plays a part. If there are structures or obstacles that can be damaged our team has to rig the tree down via ropes which is a more time consuming process.

  • There are a number of diseases or abiotic disorders that could be affecting your tree. Tree diseases are usually species specific, and it takes an expert not an app to identify. While there are some forums and facebook groups that may be helpful, it usually takes an in person visit to correctly identify your tree’s particular problem. Don’t waste your money on treating a mis-diagnosis, but trust our certified arborists to get it right the first time.

  • There are numerous insects that can kill or damage a tree ranging from wood boring beetles and moths, to defoliating caterpillars, and insects like aphids and scales that suck fluids from the tree. Most of these pests are specific to one species or genus of tree and have different management strategies. Some may be unsightly, but cause little damage at all. Whatever the case our certified arborists can get you on the right track and develop a strategy to manage and recover your tree’s health.
